Chris and Jayne were so friendly and welcoming. The property is spotlessly clean with lots of special little touches. The breakfasts were hands down the best of any bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. Also great location. Convenient to the parkway and downtown. We will definitely return and bring our bikes next time to ride the greenways.

"They left us wanting more in the best way possible."

PT Barnum has been attributed with “Always leave them wanting more.” At the Black Lantern Inn, Chris and Jayne did just that in the most marvelous way possible. Their familiarity with the area yielded terrific suggestions and left us wanting to spend more time in Roanoke. Their varied and colorful breakfasts (clearly the results of Jayne’s CIA training) made us wish we had booked more than two nights (and breakfasts) on the lovely 2nd floor porch. And their seemingly effortless and coordinated touch points with us made us want to spend more time getting to know them better. Suggestion: splurge and book the Skyline Room Retreat - a real oasis. You won’t regret it.
