Le lodge est parfaitement situé, avec un accès facile à Kaikoura. L’accueil était agréable et chaleureux. Le petit-déjeuner était très bon, préparé maison, et se partage avec les autres voyageurs dans une ambiance conviviale. La chambre était correcte, mais un peu petite à notre goût, et le bruit du réfrigérateur peut gêner pendant la nuit. Pour le reste, tout était propre et confortable. Dans l’ensemble, un bon endroit pour séjourner à Kaikoura.

The hosts were great, the property was impeccable and the breakfast delicious. We wish we had booked another night in Kaikoura just to stay at Nikau for longer.

Nikau Lodge is truly an exceptional place to stay. Absolutely everything was perfect. From the gorgeous view, to the excellent cooked breakfast, to lovely and engaging hosts, to homemade cookies, to the beautiful gardens. I could go on. But suffice it to say we give Nikau Lodge our highest recommendation. We are so lucky to have found it and been able to stay there!

This is a charming B&B located within walking distance of a park and city center. It's located on a busy corner but quite hidden from the road--entering the yard was like being in the secret garden. Unfortunately we were not able to fully enjoy our hosts' hospitality: we had an early morning appoinment with the Whale Watch company and had to carry out our breakfast. Because our whale watching tour ended after the check-out time, we also had to check-out early. The room was super comfy: his and hers robes are supplied and there is a mini frige in the hall with milk and freshly baked cookies for midnight snacking. There was some road noise, but nothing that kept us up.

We found communication with our hosts a bit difficult: we needed to let them know we had an early morning appointment so we wrote that on the breakfast menu each guest fills out. We went to dinner and there was no one at the desk when we returned so we didn't see their response until we got ready to leave in the morning--however, our host was up preparing breakfast and when I knocked on the diningroom door he handed us a nice ready to eat breakfast which we carried to the park and enjoyed after we checked out. So it all turned out well!
