Matamata Lodge

Glenn and Mark were excellent hosts and really did everything to make sure our stay was comfortable. The room itself is so beautiful and has all the amenities you could need. We loved the homemade cookies left in the room and the delicious breakfast pancakes. The location was just stunning, and we got to see the calves and feed the sheep and goat! Perfect distance for a quick drive into Matamata. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

A great studio with views of the farm animals and close to the town centre and Hobbiton, which was the purpose of our trip.

Lovely place in the country, but easy distance from Hobbiton. The provided breakfast was fabulous.

One more place for a suitcase would be nice

We absolutely loved our stay here. Glenn was so welcoming and everything had been organised so well. The room itself is spotlessly clean with comfortable homely furnishings. The location is just beautiful with rolling fields as far as the eye can see and loads of wonderful animals to feed! We visiting hobbiton which was around 15 mins drive away and really easy to find. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with lots of homemade elements that were really thoughtful. We would definitely recommend to stay here and would love to return.
