Quiet location with a lovely park with a playground for kids and great for dog walking nearby. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The room was smaller than expected. Shower had mould and the bathroom lino floor was torn and there were stains on the wall.

There wasn’t any breakfast included in on the price. An oat porridge pot was meant to suffice for a takeaway breakfast as they were unable to provide at the pub.

It was extremely hot..no proper air con or windows that opened. Few things should have been checked before guests arrived like tv remote which didn’t work.

Breakfast option in room very poor; slightly small shower, Would be good to have booklet with WiFi and other useful information.

Only positives were that there was hot water and the toilet flushed.

Extremely uncomfortable beds. Bathroom had hole in floor, paint peeling of wall, rotten woodwork, leaking shower, broken window. Everything in room creaked and made noise, walls very thin, had to listen to talking in next room whilst trying to sleep. Room very warm with no airflow or able to open window. No wardrobe, couple of coat hangers hanging under stairs at knee height was laughable.

The village, and pub are very photogenic, Rooms are very spacious compared to most hotel rooms. Good fans downstairs in both apartments, but it was very hot for our 2 night stay and the upper bedrooms were stifling without their own fans, or the ability to open a window.

Fire safety! The 2 apartments appear to have been created by converting a very old barn. The upstairs rooms of both apartments are a death trap, with no opening windows and therefore no means of escape in the event of fire on the open slatted wooden stairs. It's also quite difficult for an adult to negotiate the stairs in "Cromwell" due to the sloping ceiling. There were fire alarms in each apartment, but the one in "Cromwell" didn't work when tested. The entrance doors and door frames had recesses for intumescent seals, but none were fitted! The downstairs windows didn't open either. In the event of a fire in the lobby area between the 2 apartments the occupants in both apartments would have no chance. I cannot believe this conversion has been approved by the Fire Service or local Planning Department. Q-When is a fridge not a fridge? A-When it can only fit a mug inside. Why even bother? Bathroom flooring in 2nd apartment ("June"?) a trip hazard. Mould around bottom of both shower trays - not nice. You needed to be a contortionist to get into one of the single beds upstairs in "June" - There was a large beam at waist height to climb over/under! Hanging space a joke in "Cromwell" and non existent in "June", when there was plenty of floor/wall space in both to do something imaginative. Friends in "June" had disturbed sleep because of intermittent noise from what sounded like a freezer in the adjacent barn. Advertised as a B&B, but breakfast consisted of Tea & coffee, oat bars and pots of instant porridge....but no spoons to stir/eat with! On second day we did find 4 spoons in the shared lobby, in with the stocks of replacement consumables.

Staff very friendly and the evening meal in the bar was excellent. However the accommodation was very tired and in need of decorating especially the shower room. Mattress needs replacing. Breakfast not available even as an extra!

A delightful room with everything u need for an overnight stay. Pub is in a beautiful quiet, attractive hamlet not far from Winchester or Romsey. Delightful staff and delicious food.
