I feel a bit bad for posting this, as this is a small business with lovely owners, but I do feel I need to draw attention to the fact that the 'private bathroom' is not in fact private. It is shared between the two rooms. The other occupant had clearly had a good evening out (good for him) but the noise of him to-ing and fro-ing to the bathroom multiple times during the night, about two hours apart each time, was disruptive to my sleep. This was especially as the room is right next to the bathroom and there is a power-flush or something like that in operation. I did mention this to the host and she said she'd change the listing, but I note it's still as it was and Booking is pestering me to leave a review, so I think I ought to highlight it. I had a big meeting the following day but frustratingly was very tired for it. Perhaps a better place if you are travelling for leisure and don't mind a bit of disturbance in the night from other guests. Edit: to be clear the booking explicitly stated "This room offers [...] a private bathroom".

Overall every thing we possibly needed was provided.

Spotless accommodation. Great location on main bus route to St Albans. Easy access to St Albans City train station and a 20 minute ride to the middle of London. Friendly host and a great breakfast.
