"Excellent, hit the right stop during our travels."

The unit was easy to find and really centrally located for whatever you wanted to do in the surrounding region. The hosts were very helpful and gave us some suggestions for local walks, parks and where to consider eating. We really enjoyed our breakfast, great coffee and a variety of breakfast choices at a time of your suggestion.

"Fabulous classy 110-year old house, with excellent room."

Our favorite accommodation in New Zealand. Beautifully appointed, maintained, and decorated 110 year old house. Maryann and Barry were gracious hosts with Maryann serving us a continental breakfast with all the trappings. Lovely and quiet.

"The ideal place."

A delicious breakfast. Perfect location; quiet and tree-surrounded. Extremely friendly hosts. The house a perfect example of a New Zealand transitional villa, lovely to stay in with its high ceilings and perfectly painted or stained woodwork.

"Delightful in Whanganui."

Maryann and Barry were the perfect hosts. They have thought of everything to make a stay at Gumnut House a great experience. The homemade biscuits to go with the tea and coffee was an especially nice touch. We wouldn't hesitate to book this accommodation again and thoroughly recommend it.

"A fabulous place to stay."

Breakfast was excellent, especially the handout fruit salad. The choice of cereal was great and the toast was delicious. Maryann took time to discuss our choices when we checked in and I really appreciated it. Maryann was very warm and welcoming. We loved our stay in this beautifully maintained home with its cosy bed and fabulous deco bathroom and look forward to another visit soon.

I’m disabled and found the distance from the car park to our room challenging on crutches. Once I got there, the lovely rooms and the quiet more than compensated! The homemade cookies helped too!

Maryanne and Barry were welcoming knowledgeable, and attentive hosts. Fantastic location, comfortable environs and comprehensive facilities. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Whanganui.
