Elephant & Castle

Wonderful place in the jungle to hide away from a noisy tourist world. Clean and quiet, friendly host Mr. John and his family, including nice dogs. Absolute walue for money.

We loved everything about our stay here! John and Lan are amazing, they have been so welcoming from the second we arrived, helped us with whatever we needed (including bike rental). They have 6 lovely doggies which is always an added bonus! The bed was huge and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and had hot water. Being in the jungle is beautiful, it's in a very quiet location set off the road, just the sounds of nature 99% of the time! John has so many recommendations of places to go and things to do on the island you'll never be bored! Truly a home away from home and we can't wait to come back!

Location, friendly hosts, friendly dogs, excellent price, aircon worked well. Restaurants, beach and supermarket all within walking distance.

Home away from home! Fantastic hosts, helpful and knowledgeable. Super friendly dogs whom adopted me, just what I needed. Great location, in the middle of the jungle and close to everything. Quiet accomodation. Big comfortable beds, great aircon, wonderful balcony. Wildlife was amazing, fireflies, monkeys, lizards, squirrels. And of course the dogs.❤️

Location fantastic

Had a great stay here with my family. The place is very cozy and gives a homey feeling. Unlike other commercialised hotels, this one gives a very good nature vibe, the host is also very nice. Would stay here again.

Large, clean hut. Quiet location, not far from a pebble beach. The owner was happy to recommend places to eat or visit.

I was very badly bitten by mosquitos on the property - must stress that this was on the balcony and surroundings NOT in the room so there is little the owner can do about this. The ones in the room came in with me, either on me or taking advantage of the door being open for a moment. Once I stopped sitting on the balcony and drove on and off the property rather than walking down to the main road it was no longer a problem. The owner is friendly and helpful, but his views are very right wing and he is not shy about that. I was very uncomfortable with some of his opinions, but was able to avoid spending time in his company after the first day.
