Quiet out of the way, with easy access up into Monsanto. Beautiful grounds, welcoming hosts. Pet friendly

Our room was a little small, with a loft bed that had a steep staircase for access. Sofa bed in sitting are is too big for comfort.

The breakfast Ingrid made for us was delicious! Scrambled eggs, freshly made bread with homemade jams, freshly squeezed orange juice with oranges from the property, meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods from the region and great coffee! Sitting at a table conversing with people from other parts of the world added to the experience.

We loved everything!

Peaceful hotel at the foot of Monsanto in a beautiful garden. Easy gentle 20 minute walk up to the village via the Roman walkway. Looks like it should be really steep but it isnt. Great breakfast by Ingrid our host who was very welcoming. Google maps takes you to a carpark where you can't see the house. Drop down driveay to the left and you arrive in paradise.

Our visit to Monsanto was truly a delight and gave us a special look into one of Portugal’s most charming and photogenic villages. With granite houses tucked between giant boulders, the village felt like something out of a storybook—peaceful, enchanting, and unforgettable.

Honestly, the only thing was having only stayed 1 nights, definitely too short of a visit. This was an incredible village experience.

Quality of the WiFi

Incredible location although a little hard to find at first. Gorgeous surroundings and very unique accommodations. Ingrid was wonderful as was her breakfast that we shared with others. The beds were very comfortable. The place we stayed in was very tiny, but that's part of the charm.

The WiFi never really worked, but when you see where it's located, that's not surprising.

An unexpected mountain paradise in Portugal. Beautiful medieval environment with modern rooms. Set among a citrus orchard with ancient olive tree groves. Located a 15 min walk up a "Roman Way" path to the stunning medieval mountain village of Monsanto. Clear instructions from Ingrid (the manager) on how to get there were very helpful.

Nothing bad - wish we could have stayed longer.

Magnificent garden setting of fountain springs, fruit trees overlooked by the towering Castle of Monsanto. The room (dovecote) we had was a clever and stylish renovation. Our host Ingrid was wonderful preparing a superb breakfast and helping us book restaurants etc. Thank you for the beautiful preparation of our room and the wonderful welcome.

Bathroom facilities were limited by building size. A softer pillow would be great.
