Cavell House Bed and Breakfast

The location is good The owners and staff were very accommodating and the house is impressive

Breakfast served in the room was a surprise The en-suite was rather unusual in design

Very spacious and separate bedroom for the kids

Very dated decoration, noisy heaters and the birds on the roof sounded like they were in the room with you

The room was big but quite dated. Crockery was chipped when we were served breakfast

The bed and pillows were very comfy. Free parking to the front of the property. Easy walking distance to local shops and beach front.

The facilities were sadly lacking. Booked for two in the room but only had one towel and one cup. The "ensuite" was a box in the middle of the room with no wash basin for shaving or hand washing next to the toilet. This was also separated from the the very cramped shower room (for some reason) making drying off in comfort impossible. The tea/coffee facilities were basically a kettle sat on a low table next to a very small hand basin in the corner of the room. The dirty windows were very difficult to open and close due to hinges dropping. Strange atmosphere and behaviour from staff who offered no help, even though I was incapacitated with crutches, whilst unloading and loading the suitcases to and from the car. Place could do with a bit of an update and some cheeriness when welcoming guests.
