bathroom light didn’t work

No breakfast provided but plenty of places in town . Our 2 night stay was very comfortable with easy going staff and a nice room and bar . Absolutely fine .

Great location, friendly staff, warm & comfy room, and nice bar, hot shower, comfy bed

The room is a little dated, but it was only a base for us so didn't mind. The floorboards were very creaky and we heard the rooms above moving about at 5am (only a minor negative- it was still a good place for what we needed)

This is the first time we have stayed at the Swiss house however we visit Castleton as a bit of a tradition at Christmas. Our previous accommodation is no longer open so I decided to try Swiss House, I was very pleased with my choice. The room and bathroom were clean and very well presented. The staff were polite friendly and helpful. I found the location to be ideal for our needs and the car parking very good. The only minor down side was no breakfast included, but it’s no drama, as it’s only a short walk to the local pubs and cafes so we had breakfast out. It’s also worth noting that as Swiss house has its own tap room you get 10% off your drinks. We will be returning next year thank you Swiss house. :))

Room was clean

Staff could not find room key when we arrived, we knew from a previous visit that breakfast was served across the road but weren't told that this time it had to be paid for separately. Room was not serviced for the second night, shower ran hot and cold without any control being touched, heating was full on at night but turned off before morning on both days so we had to dress in a cold room. It became clear that the only interest of the staff was in sky sports and spending time smoking and swearing outside with friends. No we will not be staying here ever again.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and cosy room. We would definitely return!
