Dunchraigaig House

Excellent location for visiting Kilmartin and central Argyll. Wildlife in the garden just outside the dining room window was exceptional with pine martens, red squirrel, bats and many birds seen. Very friendly and helpful owner who gave us suggestions for our stay. Nice breakfast with plenty of fruit. Room was very clean, shower was excellent.

The bed could have been more comfortable. Too hard for us. A mattress topper would improve the comfort.

It's not often you stay in a place with a window looking out to a row of standing stones! As a regular visitor to Kilmartin Glen, this was an ideal place to stay to explore the local historic sites in comfort. I don't have a car, but local buses and taxis can get you there and tons of ancient monuments are just a short walk away. Lynn was exceptionally friendly and helpful and not at all imposing. Whether it was watching birds and red squirrels in the garden during breakfast or coming back to the room after a long day of walking, Dunchraigaig House B&B was fantastic.

As mentioned it can be a little tricky to reach it if you don't have a car or bicycle, but I managed just fine with walking, taxis and buses. Just be prepared to stretch your legs a bit and you'll be grand, and any downside caused by this is more than made up for by the fact that you wake up to a view of sunrise over standing stones.

It was off the beaten track. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay. Lynn made us very welcome and was very helpful with sheltering our bikes in their garage. Our room was really nice and the bathrooom fabulous. We really appreciated the two comfortable little chairs and table in the seating area. Our room had a beautiful view down Kilmartin Glen and overlooking a circle of standing stones.
