Sunhill Rest Hiriketiya

Another wonderful stay at Sunhill Rest. Really the most comfortable and ideal room and location in Hiriketiya, located a short walk from the beaches, off the main road, with spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms. The host is very kind and considerate, and was helpful throughout my stay. The big common kitchen and terraces are lovely bonuses. I can't wait to stay again!

4 rooms in total so it was really quiet in this respect. The kitchen was handy, especially the large fridge which you are going to need since the whole area is ridiculously overpriced in terms of eating out.

The road around the whole property is rather busy and therefore, rather noisy, especially at night. The front door to the rooms upstairs is at the back of the house and there is a road right there…. The size of the rooms is exagerated and so is the existence of any livable balcony.

Clean,quiet and comfortable..rooms are of a high standard for the price.

Could do with water on arrival as stated in the booking ad and tea/coffee access would be a good addition.

Pretty and large rooms with high vaulted ceilings, and nice view slightly up a hill over the trees to watch the sky change colours during sunset. Good location, under ten minute walk to the beach down a quiet backstreet. The best wifi we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka! It’s a small property so we had it to ourselves.

The kitchen wasn’t really “fully stocked” (one tiny fry pan, difficult to use stove top), but decent enough to cook an egg or some two minute noodles. Staff were lovely, but their English wasn’t great and we had to ask them for a few things when we first arrived which should have been set up in the room (soap, towels). There was a pack of dogs that had a barking party in the middle of the night 3 of the 4 nights we were there.

Nice Place on a little hill. Short walk to the beach and many restaurants around. Very clean and nice balcony with lots of green around. English communicarion with the owner took some time but he was really friendly
