Dickson Street Bed & Breakfast

This is a beautiful old property. The room was very large but oddly shaped so much of it was unusable. Unfortunately, we were there during a torrential rain storm, so we could not use any of the outdoor spaces.

If you are staying in the Writer's Room, it is on the 3rd floor. The stairs are incredibly steep and it was very hard to bring out luggage up to the room. The clawfoot tub is cute but very impractical for showering - no place to put your soap or shampoo and awkward to get in & out. The breakfast was an offering of cold cereal, donuts, and muffins - not my vision of a Bed & Breakfast.

The host was there to greet us, which I really like. I don't like having to read through messages to find the code, etc.

The building and property were lovely. It was easy to walk downtown if you don't mind a bit of a walk.

The breakfast was very minimal and mostly packaged food items.

the location was excellent. Very quiet, but still close enough to walk to everything.

the cleanliness of the room, bathroom could have been better. e.g. drawers in bathroom. didn't want to put anything in them. We were disappointed that a lot of the breakfast items stated on the board were not available. e.g. milk and cheese. Cream cheese was there the first morning, but then didn't get refilled. In general, what ran out didn't get refilled. Music on tv always the same.
