Porch House

I was made very welcome on arrival, with coffee and cake. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of beverages and fruit. The parking is secure. And the breakfast was great!

An enjoyable and relaxing stay, and the hosts were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Lovely old house and well appointed room with en-suite facilities. Location good and with all restaurants and pubs within walking distance.

This was our fourth visit to Porch House and it is one of those places you know is always going to be top class. Situated in the centre of town the house has very good off-street parking. The house is the oldest in town and is full of history and interest. It is decorated and furnished to the highest standard and in keeping with the style and age of the property. The rooms are very comfortable and very well equipped. There is also a lovely extra touch via the provision of little extra treats such as a fresh fruit bowl, top quality chocolates and delicious homemade biscuits. And last but by no means least - I reckon that Charles serves up the best cooked breakfast you can find, with top quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Charles and Christine are charming hosts who are rightly proud of the house as well as the town. It is always a pleasure to stay here and we will certainly be back next year for what is now becoming an annual visit.

The bed was a little firmer than I'm used to, I missed my mattress topper.

Location was perfect as we could walk straight onto Northallerton's main street but it was nice and quiet around the accommodation. Lovely chocolates and fruit in our room and fresh milk for the tea and coffee.

Excellent location, very helpful and friendly owners providing a superb breakfast in a lovely historic building. Would definitely stay again.
