Too much nickel and dime

Really lovely hotel that genuinely cares about its guests. It's located outside the city centre in an upmarket housing estate. We were completely looked after from start to finish and felt totally at home. Would absolutely come back and can't recommend it enough.

The staff were very helpful, and you could get a home cooked meal on the rooftop area. The accommodation was fine with a good size bedroom and ensuite. We never used the pool but it was cleaned daily.

It is located in a gated community of new housing with some building work going on. The building work is not an issue little noise. The location involves a Tuk Tuk trip into the centre, perhaps more remote than we would have preferred.

Everything other than the slightly detached location in a rather sterile housing estate. It made for a peaceful and quiet stay though. Appreciated the upgrade and the lovely dinner served in the roof. Really a great service experience.

We had such a wonderful stay here and felt like some lovely calm respite from the hustle of the town. It's actually even better than the photos. Firstly, the size of the rooms is incredible - we've travelled all over the world, and have never stayed in a suite on this scale. Also some great amenities. The staff were brilliant, so helpful. Breakfast was lovely too, and late lunch/bite to eat when we arrived which was delicious.

The location has some pros and cons. It's a really lovely, rather grand housing estate outside of the city and surrounded by hills - so felt calm, but did mean you are at the mercy of taxi drivers and tuktuks to get everywhere. The only thing to mention was that there is some building work taking place in the plot next to the hotel which even went on til past 6pm on a Sunday - nothing that the Almond Tree can do about this, it just slightly detracted from the vibe when we were relaxing by the pool. But we would really recommend it here, we had a great stay.

- the walls were thin and we had inconsiderate neighbors - location is outside of the city center (but that’s why we chose it) - not too easy to book Uber, as some don’t want to enter this beautiful area
