Nice clean place excellent service very friendly staff

Walking 3 flight steps to get to the room, no elevator

Located in the old town of Ortigia, this characteristic old building has been thoughtfully redeveloped internally to provide excellent accommodation. Our room was large, bright (great lighting) and airy and had two small balconies above the narrow streets below. The large bed was comfortable and, with the benefit of the excellent fitted air conditioner, we slept extremely well. Daily housekeeping was quick and efficient. Wifi was great and the TV offered a good range of, mainly Italian, channels. Breakfast was a highlight for us. A table is provided in the Breakfast Room for each room each day. Effectively each table is set with a mini buffet including fresh croissants, toast, marmalade & jams, boiled eggs, cheese, cold meats, a range of baked cakes and pastries (which changed daily) as well as fresh fruit, fruit juice and coffee. We thought it was a lovely way to present breakfast, even though we were never able to finish everything offered on the table. Although check-in is quoted as 11.30-12.30 they have a very effective self-entry system for guests arriving at other times, by use of an electronic code system on the main door. Ortigia has a great number of restaurants and bars, nearly all specialising in local style meals.....and ice cream!! There are many quirky shopping streets throughout the old town, often housed in buildings full of history. The more modern area of Siracusa is just a short walk away.

Fantastic location. The two staff members were exceptional. Breakfast was very good. The owner recommended her son’s restaurant (Osteria Del Principe - La Cantinaccia) and we had dinner there - one of the best meals I’ve ever had! And it was filled with just locals - you knew you were getting local food and a local experience. Highly recommend Osteria Del Principe - La Cantinaccia for dinner.

The number of stairs to navigate with luggage. Not allowed to put toilet paper in the toilet.

Old well appointed residence with good finishes and very well presented. The staff at breakfast were very helpful.

There was a mix up over the rooms and with no one there to sort we had to pick another that turned out to have inadequate air conditioning. The day and night temperatures were excessive during our stay that became unbearable at night causing us to leave a day early.

Breakfast was good, service friendly and prompt, room large and airy, bathroom v.good. view interesting and not too noisey. Location excelent, fort, temple, archimedes musium all easy walks, as was drop on drop off bus route. couldn't be happier with facilities or location.

There was no way to keep water or milk cool in the room, so had to drink black tea but that wasn't the end of the world. I've only mentioned to as i seem to have to choose something.

This is an amazing property. One of the best I’ve stayed in and I have visited Italy many times. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and the area is quiet and safe. The owner is very kind and helpful and the staff are amazing at making you feel at home. Thank you all for making my trip so memorable. I will definitely be back.

We purchased 4 nights of bed and breakfast and were only provided with on site breakfast on the first morning. We were given vouchers for a very basic breakfast far from the accommodation on the other days, hence we only used 1 voucher.

The hostess was anxious and spoke little English. Communication was unfortunately a problem. We did not feel that it was a user friendly location for somebody who unfortunately doesn't speak Italian

There was a problem with the breakfast and couldn't be provided at the hotel. We were given a voucher and had a ten minute walk to the Duomo Square where we were given a couple of croissants, a cup of coffee and a glass of juice. Hardly a 'fabulous' breakfast.

We booked the room with the sea view, it states that clearly on our booking form, but were given a different room. We were told that there isn't a sea view (the description of the property clearly says side view from balcony). The rooms are not soundproofed, and I didn't like the ten minute walk for a poor breakfast. There were no drawers in the room so apart from the wardrobe hanging space there wasn't anywhere to put clothes. We kept most of our clothes in our suitcases. The bathroom door snagged on the floor and was difficult to open and close.
