The lady that I met and who deals with the bookings, actually did not live there, but she was very accommodating and offered me a larger room considering I was rated rather "big" for the room that I had booked. This is located in a residential area and the hosts did everything they could to make things comfortable and the accommodation appears to be upgraded gradually. The breakfast is self serving, which isn't uncommon in NZ.

At the time of my stay there were no restaurants in Patea, so you need to travel or just keep it in mind.
