Ironsands B&B

Well concieved B&B, with private lockable bedrooms, a communal kitchen and lounge. We were fortunate enough to be the only guests, and so had the full house to ourselves. Victoria (owner) dropped by to make sure everything was ok, but otherwise left us alone. Will certainly come back if we're ever in Patea again.

Honestly, this was ideal - exactly what we needed.

The breakfast provisions were great, and the accommodation was tastefully appointed.

It was a little cold, although this didn’t bother us too much. Maybe electric blankets on the beds would help.

Very helpful when needed a charger and went to the extent of getting a friend to drop one off. Lovely house and nice neighborhood.

We had whole house for ourselves. Perfect place and very affordable

The whole house was amazing. Especially being able to play board games and being off devices during our stay. The host was amazing due to our change in circumstance we was able to change our booking.

The bedroom and bathroom were absolutely fine although there was no air conditioning in the bedroom. Thankfully, it wasn't an exceptionally hot evening/night. The bathroom had been updated and was modern and clean ( however it took ages for any hot water to come though in the shower so the first of us had a cold shower). Information from owner prior to arrival was helpful.

The continental breakfast was disappointing - only muesli / wheatbix was provided but no milk; jams/ spreads in the fridge but nothing to spread them on. Another guest arriving later at night and banging on the door trying to get in. Unfortunately he had only just booked the room and had not received the helpful text from the owner so did not have the info to access the keys to his supposed booked room.

Victoria had to change our booking. I think we definitely gained , ended up in the studio apartment. Very well planned to get so much in the space
