Family room was clean and mattresses indeed comfortable. Pillow instead not. Nice owners. Own balcony was cozy. Neighbourhood ok and we had a little walk in the evening. Trat city museum and riverside restaurants near. Breakfast choices average.

We were promised "friendly owners and good mattresses" in our guide book, and this made a bell ring! We've met quite a lot of friendly people during our travel through Thailand, and we looked forward to meet some more. But good mattresses - nowhere to be found, all were hard as a brick. So we especially enjoyed the fact, that the mattress indeed was very good and comfortable! The room itself was spacious, and with big windows, and a nicely renovated, new bathroom attached. There was lots of place to hang or pack your stuff, which I very much appreciated. Only critic (but me being an interior designer, I have a bit of a too strict eye) was the fact that the furniture in the room seemed to be a bit "randomly put together". The hotel is located in the pretty part of Trat, where there's much quieter, the houses are smaller, the little restaurants nicer, and the river is close by. And the owners, a Thai-German-couple, were welcoming and friendly people. They booked boat tickets to Koh Mak for us, we had a very nice chat with them and they served us a tasty breakfast with some very good, home-made yoghurt (in Thailand! Yummy!). As conclusion I can recommend staying in Residang Hotel.

We stopped here between Bangkok and Ko Chang. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful in booking our taxi and ferry to Ko Chang and giving advise in where to eat locally. We took her advise and visited a Korean BBQ just down the road and we weren’t disappointed. This is a a very quiet town and the hotel very quiet too which is good, but you feel bad coming and going late at night and there is no bar/ lounge to enjoy a beer.

Very friendly and helpful owner. They gave us a map from the city and booked the ferry to Koh Kood for us. Very comfortable Boxspring beds. Nice location in the near of the river, very quiet. Very good breakfast.

This is my second stay at Residang in lovely Trat town - well worth a stopover for the relaxed atmosphere and great night market for food. Simple room that is showing its age but very clean, comfortable bed, thin towels, small TV, big windows with nice views and good breeze which kept it cool. Good breakfast available. Easy walk to market and the main bus station is about 2 km away and the historic river walk is nearby.

We stayed here 2 nights enroute to Koh Kut, good decision. This is a nice family run place with helpful staff. We booked our onward ferry tickets to Koh Kut with them, picked up outside the door. We had a second floor balcony room overlooking the street. The room was clean with everything we needed & included a fridge. The markets (night & day) are only about a 10 minute walk away. The morning market has some nice local breakfast options if you want to eat with the locals. If passing through again, would stay here again.

Paid 690THB for an AC family room for 3, arrived late and left early and found it was great. Very clean. Purchased ferry ticket to Ko Chang and the lady arranged for a taxi to pick us up early to go to the peer.

We really like staying here. Nice people, clean rooms, good location. The breakfast was excellent and we loved walking along the river. The proprietors were completely helpful getting us hooked up with the ferry company who picked us up the next day to take us to Koh Mak island by boat.

Lovely, homely, relaxing rooms, clean, netted and large... very quiet at night and the owners (German/Thai) have advice on what's available locally as well as further afield. Short walk to the night market (great food and fruit, which is cheap and tasty). We stayed there twice and prices did creep up over 2015/2016.

Nice clean rooms, kind of rustic, but just what you would expect in this price range. Warm showers with good pressure. Owners very friendly with good recommendations for places to eat. They have a great map they have made showing all the amenities in town.
