Home away from home!

Exceptional breakfast with fresh ingredients from the garden. Felt immediately welcome and at home thanks to the hosting couple. They have created a unique space filled with historic objects that all have a story to be told. I will never forget my stay, it's written into my heart.

A wonderful old house, lovingly restored by the very welcoming hosts. Fun conversations, a delicious home-cooked dinner and a sumptuous cooked breakfast. A very comfortable room and a well-appointed bathroom.

The lovely couple put on drinks and a bbq which was super thoughtful for us. We were treated very nicely and it was really sweet.

Where do I start? Firstly, the hosts, Maggie and Tony, are the loveliest, most caring and helpful people you are ever likely to meet and welcome you into their home like family or long lost friends. We had an issue with lost luggage and Maggie and Tony stepped in with efforts to locate the baggage and secure it's return, whilst also washing and lending us clothing and assisting us to purchase necessary items. Nothing was too much trouble. The property itself is a beautifully restored heritage home with a wealth of original features and furnished to an impressive standard with traditional/antique furniture and fascinating curios. Spotlessly clean throughout with impeccable décor of exquisite taste. Luxurious bathrooms with beautiful fixtures and fittings and sumptuous towels. Set in a beautiful backdrop of mature gardens yet conveniently located in a charming village. The freshly cooked to order breakfast is absolutely delicious using fresh, local produce and garnished and seasoned with herbs and flowers from the colourful and fragrant garden - a feast for the senses. We also enjoyed evening meals al fresco again delicious, local ingredients all home cooked from scratch, and all with a generous helping of Tony's wonderful anecdotes and fascinating stories! We were even included in a Birthday soiree being held for a neighbour! Maggie and Tony have extensive local knowledge and were able to advise and support with our plans to gain the most from our stay with them, we only wish we could have stayed longer. We have wonderful memories to last a lifetime, and would thoroughly recommend this hidden gem to anyone wishing to experience unmatchable, genuine hospitality and an immersive yet relaxing experience.
