Comfortable cottage in a great location near walks and the main town. The outdoor area was beautiful - perfect for enjoying wine with mountain views. The host, Gordon , is very nice and pleasant.

It was roomy, unique and a peaceful setting.

We did not know there was a separate building with kitchen and dining facilities initially.

Granny Stringer's Cottage is such a peaceful wee place. It is cosy, clean and comfortable. I love the solidity of history, built of cob back in the 1880's, 10 people living in 2 small rooms! The add on bathroom & kitchenette is lovely. Great shower! The full kitchen dining room is a seperate building just a few metres away, if you feel the need to cook whilst on holiday. We didn't! The local cafes are just across the river ;-) The hosts are close by but very unobtrusive, we met & chatted with Gordon for a few mins but apart from that we were left to be as private as we wanted. The bed is so comfortable - slept so well. No noise - just incredible peaceful quietness. We rested, relaxed, and left feeling restored

The wifi wasn't great. We just used our own cellular network as it kept dropping out.

Quaint original cottage that has been tastefully refurbished Very clean Cosy with lots of heating and electric blankets Good size new bathroom and shower Lockbox is always a bonus so you can make your own way in, in our own time...no stress

The instructions didn't give you a heads up that you need to go through a gate to access the property shared by other dwellings. So we were a bit hesitant initially to go through the gate. But eventually made the conclusion we were in the right place going by the photo. Which was also a bit tricky because we could only see the back of the cottage from the gate.

The location was great for me as I was spending time at Lake Roxburgh village.

It was all good
