Granny Stringer’s Cottage

The cottage was away from noise just out of town , quite comfortable and fairly roomy. Beautiful bathroom. Our thoughtful host, Gordon ,welcomed us on arrival and had set the heater going for our last minute arrival in the chilly early evening. The bed was very comfortable . Continental breakfast was included and suited our needs.

The heater was only just coping with the super cold night , Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to explore the beautiful property (bad timing for us)

I need to advise that this property is not as advertised on Booking.com. However, it is correct on Airbnb. The description reads, that there was a stovetop and oven and well fitted kitchen plus a washing machine. There were none of the above. We thought were we at the wrong property. There is a very small kitchenette, but this contains only a toaster/jug, small fridge and plates/glasses/utensils. No sink. Please fix your advert at your earliest convenience so folk are not disappointed. We also did not receive the access instructions until the next day. After requesting them before we were due to arrive. Minor slip up. Location is very close to the owner's house, so the lovely veranda isn't private. No biggy- just good to know.

Quiet location. Well heated for cold overnight conditions. Very comfortable.

Lack of microwave and hotplates. I was travelling by bike and going out for a meal out of question. Didn’t know in advance of arriving. Of course you could also argue the need for a sink but washing up in bathroom ok for me.

A wee gem of a place. Beautiful cottage , comfortable and clean with a separate kitchen which was well equipped. Nice veranda to sit on and enjoy the spectacular view. Very kind and hospitable host.

Loved everything. It was a little way out of the town but in a beautiful setting.

A little piece of heaven, so quiet. A short drive out of town but worth it.

Nothing to dislike

Lovely rural setting but still close to town. Delightful cottage which has been nicely renovated. Nice lounge bedroom and porch to enjoy the surroundings. New bathroom with great hot water and good pressure. Comfortable bed

As reported previously by others there is only a small fridge and no dining table in the cottage. The main kitchen is in another building which could do with a tidyup. The website also needs to be updated as there is no oven or washing machine
