Granny Stringer’s Cottage

I liked the bed & bathroom. Private drive was nice.

I was expecting the kitchen I saw on booking.com Instead we found a closet sized space with a jug, toaster, plates/cutlery and small fridge. With nothing to cook on or in we had to drive back to the village to find something to eat. The only thing open was the fresh choice. Thank goodness they had a pre-cooked chicken (which wasn't good) I had to wash the plates and cutlery in the bathroom sink with hand soap. This is the first time I've ever found a place on booking.com that did not have the facilities that we're advertised. No BBQ, no laundry, no kitchen with cooktop and sink, no full sized fridge . . .all of the things I rely on for travelling. Very disappointing and actually false advertising-

Great location in a lovely garden setting. Love the lounge, bedroom and veranda.

The kitchenette does not really allow one to cook a meal as a stovetop and sink are not supplied.

A peaceful historic cottage in a quiet location that provided the ideal getaway location for relaxing

This cottage was lovely and everything was quaint and authentic, it was a treat staying here thank you. Very clean and comfortable it is great value for money.

The photo's show a kitchenette with stove and sink. We brought food to cook but we're very disappointed to find no where to cook or heat anything, just a toaster and jug. With no local food places open we found the local pub who we're happy to reopen their kitchen for us. Although disappointing it doesn't take away the pleasure of staying here.

Fantastic fully restored stone cottage. Comfy bed with quality linen. Nice shower. Well stocked kitchen.
