Sehr nettes Ehepaar Ron und Alicen. Gute Tipps über die Gegend. Private Unterkunft mit viel Liebe im Detail.

Bequemes Bett. Dusche in Ordnung. Waschmaschine + Trockner einwandfrei. Alison und ihr Mann waren wirklich sehr nett.

Winziges Badezimmer und kleines Handwaschbecken. Frühstück am ersten Morgen sehr „mager“ mit zu wenig Butter und nur Marmelade. Kein Aufschnitt wie Wurst oder Käse. Früchte und Joghurt wurden schon am Nachmittag für den nächsten Tag bereitgestellt. Frühstück muss dann selber zubereitet werden inkl. Abwasch danach. Haben wir aus anderen vergleichbaren Unterkünften besser kennengelernt.

Eine sehr geräumige Ferienwohnung. Neben dem Schlafzimmer gibt es noch ein großes Wohnzimmer mit Kitchenette und Kaminofen. Hier stand auch das Frühstück bereit. Die Lage ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die umliegenden Nationalparks zu erkunden.

Felt like a home away from home

The cottage is in a really quiet place with beautiful views of the mountain. Alison and Ron are lovely people and welcomed us into their home like family and Alison provided us with a wonderful continental breakfast. We were able to walk to the local community club for drinks and food. It was easy and not too far to get to Pipiriki where we were doing a canoe trip.

The bedroom area is small with very little space to put bags. People also need to be aware that the lounge, dining, kitchen area is all a shared space, as the second bedroom is directly off this as well. Alison explained that it clearly shows this on booking.com as “one room left” once you book online, however I think it would help future customers to say “shared space” in order to clarify, as we were surprised to find this out after checking in. Luckily for us the couple who had checked into the other room earlier in the afternoon decided not to stay so we did have the whole area to ourselves in the end.

De host is erg vriendelijk. De gemeenschappelijke ruimte is erg ruim en voorzien van wasmachine en droger. Ondanks dat Raetihi echt heel weinig te bieden heeft is het een goede uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te verkennen.

De slaapkamer is erg klein. Met het bed en wat koffers staat het vol. De kitchenette geeft niet de mogelijkheid om een maaltijd te maken door het ontbreken van een kookplaat. Dit zou wel handig zijn aangezien omdat pas in het volgende dorp 10 km verder er restaurants zijn.

Alison and Ron were supremely good hosts, super helpful with information about the local area and always up for a chat. Accomodation was incredibly welcoming and clean, even had a family of ducklings on the property for that extra touch. Breakfast supplied was plentiful and tasty. Would 100% stay here again.
