Palm Tree Villa Nungwi

Everything was great. Staff were amazing

No transport knew where it was and when we asked we weren’t given an answer on what to tell drivers.

The host was very Nnice. Breakfast is delicious. Rooms and bathrooms are big. It is very closed from the beach. Thank you.

Palm Tree villa itself was exactly what I wanted. The staff were kind. The facility seemed nice, clean, and the breakfast was adequate. They were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, even though I booked with them. When I arrived I was informed there was no rooms available and they transferred me to a sister hotel that was not pleasant at all.

I would have been happy if I stayed at the hotel I booked and not a sister hotel. The hotel they sent me to, the room was dark and dirty. There was one partially working light. There was a hole in the ceiling with wires hanging out of it. There was a hole in the wall. The door had holes around the handle allowing bugs inside the room. There were lizards, spiders, and mosquitos in my room, but no bug net was offered. There was a weird buzzing sound from the corner of my room, which kept me up most of the night, but when I did fall asleep I was bitten by bugs. The bathroom was small and subpar. The A/C had to be fixed and there was no fan. The water was very cold despite having a water heater in the bathroom and the bathroom floor appears to haven’t been cleaned well or properly. I was very upset to have paid for Palm Tree Villa and it’s luxuries, but have been transferred to a hotel where I did not feel safe or comfortable. When the sister hotel didn’t feed me breakfast (included in the price), I went back to Palm Tree where they provided it for me. No wifi available. (supposed to be included). When I talked to the sister hotel manager, I was told this hotel was still under construction and not technically open for guests, but used for overflow from Palm Tree. I would have been fine with a transfer to a hotel of equivalent standard to Palm Tree, but this was not it. I asked for a partial refund and was given 5000 shillings to cover the breakfast I didn’t receive the first morning. Any other refund was refused out of the 130,000 shillings paid, stating it was not possible. They did apologize, ensuring it wouldn’t happen again, then proceeded to ask me for a good review.

Very clean, good breakfast, friendly hosts!

The fan in our room was very squeaky. We couldn’t go without it as it was too hot, ground floor room was very noisy from around 6.30 am with children outside the windows.
