Maison du Pays de Bến Tre

Es ist ein wahnsinnig idyllischer Ort, mitten im Palmenwald!! Die Besitzerfamilie hat mit viel Liebe und persönlichem Engagement eine richtige Oase geschaffen! Das Nachtessen war eine Offenbarung! Es war das beste Essen während unserer ganzen 4-wöchigen Vietnamreise. Mit den Fahrrädern haben wir einen Ausflug auf die benachbarte Insel unternommen, auch das war der Hit! Während dieses 3-stündigen Ausflugs sind wir keinen anderen Touristen begegnet und haben so viele äusserst freundliche Einheimische angetroffen.

Le lieu est très beau (pas notre chambre malheureusement), bien agencé, la nourriture est bonne. L’hote parle très bien anglais et est serviable.

Nous n'avons pas eu la chambre indiquée sur la réservation, notre chambre etait collée à la cuisine, nous entendions tous les bruit de la maison pas du tout insonorisé à partir de 6h du matin et une pompe à eau insupportable toute la journée. Le lit est extrêmement dur vraiment inconfortable. L’hote a été assez fuyant avec nous , toutes nos demandes devaient se faire par échanges whatsapp alors qu’il se trouvait dans la maison...il propose gracieusement des vélos mais pas de scooter et le lieu est tres isolé vous aurez vite fait le tour et surtout par ces chaleurs écrasante. Il ne nous a pas proposé de tour ou quoi que ce soit comme activité. Nous avions davantage l’impression de déranger. Je me suis sentie mal dans ce lieu malgré la beauté, c’est très dommage.

Thinh and his family were exceptional hosts. Before we even arrived he helped us organise buses directly to the homestay. The food was very tasty and we felt very at home the entire time. Thinh helped us to come up with an itinerary for our trip, showing us a few islands we could cycle to with the free bikes provided at the homestay. He also tailored the breakfast to our dietary requirements which was great. The surroundings were very beautiful and everyone in the village was very friendly.

As other reviews have mentioned, there are limited options for eating near the homestay, particularly for vegetarians. If you don't have dietary restrictions it may be less of an issue.

Queríamos conocer una zona del Mekong un poco apartada de los típicos recorridos turísticos que salen de Ho Chi Minh y encontramos este Homestay, limpio, cómodo y muy bien situado para hacer excursiones, tanto guiadas como por nuestra cuenta, por la región gracias a las bicicletas que ponen a tu disposición gratuitamente. Tienen un menú variado de opciones para comer y cenar, platos típicos cocinados en el propio establecimiento. Las habitacione son cómodas y el encargado del Homestay te hace sentir como en casa.

Todo bien, pero hay que tener en cuenta a la hora de venir hasta aquí que no se puede acceder en coche hasta la casa, pero sí en moto y bicicleta.

What an oasis after the chaos of HCMC. Thinh is the perfect host and his Grandmothers cooking is exceptional. We enjoyed taking the bikes and exploring the local area. We got the ferry to the island and explored the coconut charcoal burning area and shrimp farms. The place is super relaxing and we enjoyed hanging out in the hammocks reading. Wifi was good so I had no issues working. We had dinner here one evening and then ventured out for street food the next evening. Grandmothers pork with noodles and grilled shrimps were incredible! Breakfast is included and was fantastic each morning. If you are looking for a truly authentic stay in the Mekong with a local host then look no further!

Probably unsurprising for the area but the cockerels crow and dogs bark all through the night.
