HT Homestay CAT BA

Mr Hung was a good host and if you want a genuine experience this is a good place to stay (it's a family house). I liked the location, a bit far away from the city center and fortunately we couldn't hear the loud karaoke all night (as people often do staying in the center). It's a 20min easy walk to the city center. The homemade food was also good. We booked a full day Ha Long/ Lan Ha Bay tour in the guesthouse and it was a good experience.

The room door's let the light pass through, so not the best for light sleepers.

Could be cleaner and I had to ask for hot water in the shower.

Good price and very clean room. Owners are friendly and helpful. They can also book trips for you, like turist trips around Cat Ba or bus to Hanoi for good price.

Everything was good

Nice local homestay Not facing the main road (so no noise from the street) but very close to it (restaurants and shops nearby) The owner speaks english and can arrange trips, transport, motorbike rental etc. for very good price compared to online prices It's a simple room but I didn't miss anything there In the end, I prolonged my stay there, it's worth it!

There is no sound isolation in the room so you can hear voices from downstairs

This homestay has a good rating for a reason! It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and organised. It is also fantastic value, with breakfast added in. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful, even generously inviting us to their dinner table. The homestay is situated in a quiet local neighbourhood lending an air of authentic Vietnam flavour. This also meant that town is a one or two km walk away - no problem and always good to wander the streets of a new town. And of course public transport is available if that is your preference.
