Dee Dee was the perfect hostess. Nothing was too much trouble. Home cooked dinner and breakfast were delicious

Just the dirt road

The hostess Deedee was very friendly and treated us with a superb dinner and breakfast. Our stay was like home from home with Deedee chatting along as she cooked our meals and shared lots of information with us.

The Black Cottage is in situated in a most quaint area, just inviting you for a walk around and explore. We arrived late afternoon so there was not much time to do so, but I'd love to walk around more, and enjoy the unusual setting. The little town is quite derelict, with many old buildings empty and crumbling, but it has a certain charm about it. Our room was small, but totally adequate for a night's stay. There is no fridge in the room, but we were given milk in a flask to keep it cool. The room was clean and comfortable, with a ceiling fan to cool us down. There was the option of a meal which we did not use, but our neighbours said it was exceptional. Parking is behind locked gates, and secure and safe. Our host Dee Dee was most welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable. We would have enjoyed a longer chat; hopefully next time!

Dee Dee was an excellent hostess and our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great, enjoyed in her dining room in a charming atmosphere. Mac and Buddy were very friendly and our stay was absolutely super.

Dee Dee was very accommodating even when we changed our arrival time. Breakfast was freshly cooked and fruit salad was great. Bonus was freshly squeezed orange juice.
