Alone Cage Ella

Very nice and spacious room with incredibly friendly host Waruna and his fiance who arranged a lot for us (driver, scooter, laundry). 10/10 would reccomend! Location is also perfect, not too busy but close to all the restaurants.

There were some small ants in the bathroom but we didn’t mind.

We felt very good here! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We liked the location in a quiet place just a few steps from the main street with shops and restaurants. At this accommodation we ate the best breakfast in Sri Lanka! We would definitely come back! Thanks for everything!

A superb quiet location surrounded by trees away from the hustle of the main street. The cottage has lots of room, hot shower, hammocks out the front and privacy. An easy walk to downtown Ella. A huge breakfast each morning made by the most wonderful friendly hosts. A must stay place in Ella.

It was a spacious nice place close totgt he main street and little Adam's Peak. Very comfy room and nice hosts.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay in this little cabin. The location is not far from Ella, about 1km easily walkable. Do not miss their breakfasts! Definitely a highlight of this place, and compared to the rest of Ella you'll be saving a lot. They offered us their house to park our tuktuk and were very accommodating in general. There is no aircon but we found Ella to be not as hot as the south. Would definitely come back.

Nice spacious room & Bathroom with a little garden, couple of hammocks, small dining table on the porch for breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice, simple breakfast in fresh air with mix of western & Srilankan cuisine, fresh fruits & juice. Room had all amenities, bathroom had hot water for shower, though the water pressure in the shower despite the booster pump was slightly low than I am used to back home but it was a common issue during our stay in five different facilities in Sri Lanka Excellent value for money & overall very satisfied with our stay.

Location was good, about 5-10 min away from the street which has cafes, supermarkets & restaurants, souvenir shops etc. However, the last about 200 m road was very narrow, had no lighting & was a bit lonely at night.

The hosting family are a prime example of Sri Lankan hospitality. They are always there for you if you need something, but know when to give you some space and make you feel at home. The breakfast is absolutely superb; fresh local food and plenty of it.

The room can be slightly damp in the monsoon season, so there are some small flies around the room. There's a mosquito net around the bed, so it didn't bother us too much though!

We loved this place so much! It was so quiet and peaceful away from the noise of Ella. The garden is private and such a nice space to have. The owners are so lovely and understood what we wanted out of a space to relax. The breakfast was also really good and great value. We'd definitely stay here again when we return to Ella.

The room was really nice! Just as it looks in the pictures, super spacy but well used space. The private (well not so private as a lot of people walk past) garden was really nice too, and It was great to just lay in the hammock and enjoy the seemingly daily thunder. The staff were really lovely too, and even let me check in a little early! The breakfast was tasty, but so big.

The location was a bit of a trek away from the main town, but it also put you closer to the restaurants on the other side of the town (plus the nine arch bridge and little adams peak), so it was an okay trade off. People rave about the breakfast in the reviews, and it was nice, but it was SO big. As a solo person I couldn't finish half most days. You're talking about a 3000 calorie meal. For two people it would be good, but for one person it was too much and felt wasteful. I'd probably have preferred going to a cafe nearby.

Fabulous hidden gem. The property is just out of town and run by a young couple who run the place beautifully; lovely and clean and has a comfortable sofa to relax on, which is a rare find. Breakfast was delicious, a mix of western and Sri Lankan, and was different each day. Far too much for us to eat. It has a fridge which is great. I give this property 10 out of 10 as the owners do everything to make you comfortable, keep it clean and are obviously working hard to build a future for themselves.
