This is a very homely premises. We were so very grateful to be able to stay in the height of the Storm in January & also during the December storm . Both times the electricity was gone. In the evening the fire was lit in the downstairs pub & we managed with torches & candles. The locals came in & they were all so friendly & made us feel very welcome. We were well looked after with extra blankets & the rooms are very cosy. We were there for a funeral, we could have been turned away because of the power outage due to the storms. We were so relieved to have a safe place to stay & despite the weather we enjoyed our time in the Village Inn. We look forward to staying there again, it was like a home away from home & a lovely place to relax & enjoy a lovely atmosphere. The cafe attached to the Village Inn served wonderful food.

Pub direkt unterhalb der Zimmer. Sehr grosse und gut ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche,

Zwei kombinierte Etagenbadezimmer mit Toilette und Dusche. Wenn jemand länger duscht, ist die Toilette blockiert. Pub unterhalb der Zimmer 😀 ist eben etwas laut, wenn man einen leichten Schlaf hat.

We were informed about the storm the day before by John to check if we would still be coming to stay and the possible lack of power. As a result of the damage there was no power or heating. However Bernie ensured we had plenty of candles and came to check we were OK next morning. Many of our fellow travellers that had booked Hotel accommodation in other establishments were turned away. The village inn made us welcome and did all they could to make our stay comfortable during the aftermath of the storm. They even managed to get the bar open in candlelight on the Saturday night. Given the terrible damage the storm had caused the Village Inn did all they could and we were able to attend our Uncle funeral and have a place to stay. Thank you, you were awesome.
