The Village Inn

The staff were very friendly and informative. The b&b was very clean and warm with a communal kitchen and dining area if you wanted to cook or make a cuppa. There is a cafe next door for breakfast. The village is only half an hour from Westport and an hour drive from Achill Island. The cheapest place for a pint, only €5.50 for a pint of Coors 👌 We will definitely return again.

Very accommodating to a big group

Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war super und er war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Am Tag der Ankunft war alles sehr gut organisiert. Joanna begrüßte uns freundlich und zeigte uns die Zimmer. Auch sonst war sie sehr hilfsbereit und konnte uns bei der Frage nach einem Restaurant in der Nähe sehr helfen. Unsere Zimmer befanden sich im 1. Obergeschoss. Sie waren sehr hübsch eingerichtet und sauber. Im Bereich der Zimmer war auch eine Gemeinschaftsküche mit allem, was man braucht. Sehr sauber und ordentlich. Dort konnte man sich auch hinsetzen, also nicht nur eine Küche zum kochen. Sehr gemütlich. Auch ein Frühstücksraum war vorhanden. Die gedämpfte Geräuschkulisse aus dem Pub unter den Zimmern empfanden wir nicht als störend.

Wir dachten, wir könnten bei Ankunft direkt dort etwas essen, sonst hätten wir uns vorab ein Restaurant oder so gesucht. Aus der Beschreibung ging nicht hervor, dass man das im Village Inn nicht machen kann und es ein reiner Pub war. Aber nun, dass war jetzt nicht wirklich schlimm, wir haben ja im benachbarten Ort etwas gefunden, wo wir essen konnten. 😊

Nice place and people were nice.

Never had a worse nights sleep with a double 21st that kept trying to get into the room. The hotel itself was nice though. Bit out of the way but ok.

Trotz Lage neben der Hauptstraße ist es in der Unterkunft ruhig. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gemütlich. Das Bett ist bequem. Unter der Unterkunft ist ein Pub in welchem man Getränke genießen kann. Parkplätze waren ausreichend vor und hinter der Unterkunft verfügbar.

Das Bad war nicht ganz so sauber. Da es sich hierbei um ein Gemeinschaftsbad handelt, liegt das jedoch daran, dass manche Gäste es unsauber hinterlassen. Ich verlange vom Vermieter nicht, dass er nach jeder Person das Bad kontrolliert. Die Gäste sollten bei einem Gemeinschaftsbad zum Wohle aller auch selbst Wert auf Sauberkeit legen.

I only see 1 member of staff. He was lovely. The room was comfortable and village was lovely. Made to feel very welcome

The booking said there was a restaurant on site!! There wasnt. There was a cafe next door that shuts at 4pm. After working on friday, we left for our break, intending on eating when we got to the Village Inn. There was nowhere to eat. It is more self catering, a good big kitchen but that is not made clear at time of booking, if it had, id have brought food with me. There was no remote for the TV so we couldnt watch that all weekend. I did ask the barman but he said he didnt know! Not even a teabag in the kitchen. I thought that was poor service, as it was over €200 for 2 nights and in a hotel for same price there would have been tea and coffee available.
