Nubian Lotus

Osama and Marta were absolutely wonderful! I only wish I could have stayed longer! I loved every minute I was there! Their attention to detail, ensuring I had everything I needed and their availability was exceptional! Osama had breakfast ready for me before 6a and even carried my bag to the ferry! The best, kindest and most genuine people! I will definitely be returning!

Everything was perfect! My only disappointment was having spent so little time at this beautiful B&B!

The hosts were very “homey” and most helpful and generous. Osama has a simple, school-boy spirit and he’s always happy to talk and be friendly. Marta is practical and organized, her attention to the small details of the room makes it more like one’s home. The location, in spite of the walking on dirt roads, but being in a Nubian village feels quite safe and the view from the roof is very beautiful and relaxing.

It’s clearly stated and the hosts are very helpful about it, but it is quite true that heavy or lots of luggage will make it hard to reach and leave the property, so if one can’t move without lots of luggage, then help should be asked for.

We had a beautiful experience of a very unike and comfortable place with top standards of hospitality and personalized service. Would love to revisit, thank you so much Nubian Lotus.

Loved this place very much. Very comfortable and picturesque accomodation on the culturally rich island, with a breathtaking view of the Nile. Martha and Osama made the stay extra special with their kind hearts and beautiful smiles! Will be back!

We stayed for 3 nights and it couldn't be better. The family running the guesthouse is so welcoming and friendly, they help you with everything, they organised us a felucca, their cousin guided us to the monastery and the tombs of the nobles, the homemade food was delicious and healthy, rooms are comfortable and clean. It was just a pleasure to be at Nubian Lotus. Highly recommend!

My room was in the ground floor, and it had a homey feel to it, a great colour scheme, and while compact, super functional. And the hosts were wonderful - I had a bit of an upset tummy and missed breakfast, and Marta checked in with me, and even prepared some light food for me. Highly recommend!

A lovely, small guesthouse (just 3 rooms) on Elephantine Island with an outlook featuring the Nile, the Botanical gardens, ancient tombs and the desert. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, wifi was good, and plenty of hot water. The hosts, Marta and Osama, do everything to ensure that guests' needs are met. The food is good and an excellent Egyptian breakfast is included. Evening meals are an option and feature ingredients from their garden. Felucca cruises are available and it's possible to get a motor boat to take you to the west bank of the Nile. There are restaurants nearby and the public ferry to Aswan town centre is a 600m walk. It's a very quiet, relaxing place to stay. There is no traffic noise and the guesthouse is smoke free, a big bonus in Egypt.

It was shocking for our family to see a dog tied to a very short rope, and the dog was very docile. The dog had injuries to his legs from the rubbing of the rope.
