Clean, comfortable with very pleasant hosts. Well situated for visiting Halifax and surrounds.

Lighting in the room could have been more accommodating. Bed lamps insufficient to read.

Philip, the host, was very nice and welcoming. Showed us around the split level Room 5/Hideaway. It was nice and private with its own gate and entrance. There were several lounging areas outside and the koi pond, gardens and views were great. Breakfast was great and a very good value. Loved the Anne Lister mural in the room’s foyer. 5 minute drive to Shibden Hall. Wifi worked very well. Parking onsite at no extra charge.

Everything was great. Just a bit awkward to navigate the split level but I knew it going in and we figured it out.

Professional and friendly service from Adele and Phil, they even drove us to the station when we went out for the day. . The room was beautifully decorated with lovely touches like fresh flowers. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time, the location is perfect facing directly opposite Shibden Hall with amazing views. The room we stayed in was stunning, beautifully decorated and the bed was so comfortable with lovely linen. The breakfast was very tasty! The hosts were so warm and welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, recommending a fabulous place for dinner. We would throughly recommend this beautiful place and are planning a return trip!

amazing rooms! made in the style of Shibden Hall. we visited the hall and said “wow it looks so much like the hotel we’re staying at!”. the common areas and the dining room are also very nice. the hosts are very welcoming. everyone was nice and helpful, Phillip came to help us with the luggage and brought it up to our room. the breakfast was to die for! we ordered full English and vegetarian. both were delicious, freshly made by Phillip for us. there’s an option to order breakfast on the spot, very lucky for us because we hadn’t done it in advance. the place can be challenging to get to on foot and with a heavy suitcase but it was worth all the cardio. the view is fantastic. you can see Shibden hall from the porch! there’s also a pool with fish outside. very surprising!!
