Ashcott Homestead Bed & Breakfast

Stunning period homestead just off route 50 close to route 2. The house is beautiful with amazing original features. We were made very welcome. We had a huge bedroom with sitting area off and tea & coffee station. We slept well in a very comfortable bed and enjoyed a fantastic cooked breakfast. Being an old house the rooms aren’t en-suite, warm dressing gowns are supplied to maintain modesty!

Very unique homestead. Well appointed throughout, loved the rich woodwork. John was a great personable host, and served up a great breakfast. Had a few glasses of wine on the porch with another guest couple in the rain. Could have stayed longer if we had the time.

This place is absolutely beautiful, a true labour of love with this historic homestead. Wonderful caring hosts and beautiful surroundings.

Breakfast was enough and delicious for the traveling I was doing location was a good stop for where I was going

Because I travel alone I like to chat to other visitors but I managed to walk the grounds which was also a pleasure

Beautiful historic house and surroundings. John was very friendly and helpful. Lovely cooked breakfast. Large, comfortable bed. Free standing aircon unit. No fuss WiFi. Easy, free parking.

While you are sharing in a large guest house, there is a good degree of privacy. The owners have delightfully furnished the property with some lovely period furniture (real and copies) so you are left to drift back into a time when grand living was special. And the owners help to meet that expectation. Breakfast was a delight, not over sumptuous but perfectly adequate. John serves a lovely omelette with the associated old world charm of a country home. He must love dusting because there was a plethora of things to look after.

Cant think of anything significant. Perhaps there could be a market for some dinner catering to add to the overall experience. Cant say I enjoy the lure of a typical pub meal down the road from Ashcott.
