Phil was the perfect host, in a great accommodation that has an unbelievably beautiful view! We loved our stay here. Really comfortable rooms and overall stay with top notch hospitality. Would definitely stay again.

Our host Phil was wonderful to talk with and give us insight on local history and pointers. We loved his sheep “Chubby” and two cows…..the 1959 Thunderbird was pretty cool also. Met two other couples from France and England over very nice breakfast. Wonderful location for Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound.

The location was close to town yet away from the tourist hustle. The views are amazing and give the full perspective of Lake Te Anau. The host, Phil, is a very kind and interesting gentleman who gave us a warm welcome and advice about where to eat and local activities.

Phil gave a warm welcome on arrival. The views were outstanding (in the top 3 accommodations we have experienced in our travels through New Zealand), and there have been many. Phil introduced us to his pet sheep 'Chubby', who didn't let us down, proudly displaying his enormous girth as we hand fed him some treats. Phil is a very interesting and engaging character, and we very much enjoyed our short stay, conversing with him and other guests throughout the evening, and over breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back !

The location is superb looking over the lake to distant mountains. Sunset was amazing. Phil is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
