LE JARDIN DES GRENADIERS

Both the hotel and the setting were very charming. The amenities are rustic but are a very good value for the price. The dinner and the breakfast were both very good. Abdu, the host and owner was very welcoming and kind. He is fluent in French and can communicate reasonably well on English. I recommend Les Jardins des Grenadiers without hesitation.

The location in the oasis is fantastic to explore the surroundings. Very authentic Moroccan home, friendly host, nice food.

Breakfast was good, not amazing like other reviews said (having read other reviews first we expected something really nice but perhaps it wasn't the right time of the year as the fruits were past their best). The surrounding area is nice and I can imagine it being quite lovely in spring or summer (unfortunately in November it was raining and gloomy)

Firstly, finding the property was difficult. Clearer direction would be useful especially as people may be arriving in the darkness (like us). The access is through v narrow roads and we couldn't see anything. It took a long while to find a property. There was noone there, we phoned but there was no response. The bathroom in our view was unusable, dirty and grim, the toilet seat not even screwed. No warm water in the evening either and so bad we didn't shower. The bedroom was ok but the bed we had was so uncomfortable (old, slanting on both sides and hard so one of us went to sleep on a little sofa instead). The host told us to learn French or Berber as he doesn't speak English much. I don't tell people visiting Poland to learn Polish or Russian or German - the languages of our past occupiers like French in Morocco)

Everything. I was made very welcome and felt at home in this honestay with Abdou and his family. A real treat . And of course the garden was beautiful. They were very kind. Gave me lifts on motorbike, picked fruit from the garden for me, and the best tagine I had!

We arrived earlier than anticipated and were immediately invited to share a delicious couscous with Abdul’s friends (he keeps excellent company!) We felt very welcome. We loved the authenticity of the place and the gorgeous garden full of 100% organic produce that he uses in his restaurant. We were also given a tour of the garden by Driss and got to try all the fresh fruits. The lamb tajine prepared by Latifa was one of the best we’ve had in Morocco so far! Abdul also sang us some songs and we had great laughs with him over dinner.

Nothing. It surpassed our expectations in every way.

The host is friendly and welcomed us within his family. Clean bathroom, good hospitality, local experience, delicious food for both dinner and breakfast, access via blue arrows painted on walls/signs. The place is quiet and has a big garden.

There is NO WIFI at this place. The roads to access the place are in bad shape, location doesn't show on waze and is difficult to find through google maps. Area looks a bit rough and you don't feel like wandering around. Some of the sheets were stained and the mattresses uneven. Clear communication concerning the meals and its pricing is advised.

Friendly owner, very hospitable. Beautiful garden of dates, olives, pomegranate and quince trees. We got to try them all for breakfast.

Could be difficult to find. Follow the blue arrows to find the way or call the owner and he will come to find you and take you to his place.

The house is nice and clean, the garden is really beutifull and filled with dates and pomegranates, the host is very nice and kind. Everything was excellent.

The host, Abdul, was amazing and made us feel right at home. The garden surrounding the property, and specially the lounge area (where we fell asleep stargazing), is very welcoming. The way to the property is a bit hard to find, but completely worth it, and a journey of its own right.
