Wonderful staff and food

Room seemed to much like a teenagers bedroom not a inn bedroom

The breakfast room lady Gill. She was the best of all

The Shepherds hut was lovely and clean and cosy. The heater was very effective even with snow on the ground outside. The bed was comfy and we both slept well. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious! We had a lovely warm welcome from everyone we spoke to and would definitely stay again!

The wifi didn't reach the Shepherds huts, but this wasn't a real issue for us as we both had phone data which worked great and the TV had plenty of channels to choose from (the swivel arm made it very easy to watch from bed too!)

The actual pub itself and the food were excellent and the location for the purpose of the visit was good

Staff behind bar when we first arrived were unwelcoming. But the lady on the evening and morning (for breakfast) were friendly and welcoming. The huts are well worn and very run down and generally everything related to the outside accommodation needs some attention to detail

We stayed in one of the shepherds huts. It was clean, roomy, warm with a comfortable bed. Plenty of choice for breakfast and very generous portions. We had several evening meals - again good variety and the desserts were delicious. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Situated only 2 miles outside the centre of Whitby. We took the car most days but we walked in one day and caught a bus back, which was very cheap . Highly recommended.

Not really a criticism - we are in our 60s and the huts have no ensuite so there is a little walk to the shower and toilet facilities. This is fine but at night in November stormy weather, it can be inconvenient. During the summer months this wouldn't be a problem. On our next visit we intend to have a room with ensuite inside the Inn itself. We love this place.
