The Ivy House

Its a quaint, aesthetically curated villa in the centre of the city with green cover, courteous staff and adorable lil fur baby. The rooms are well kept and offer a home away from home experience. The breakfast offered was excellent and freshly made. Shopping (Gariahat), iconic eateries, & Kali temple are easily accessible from here. Would recommend the place to those who seek quiet in the chaos of Calcutta and want a comfortable stay. Definitely going back here.

There wasn't anything to complain, except the musty smell initially. It was understood humidity was the reason behind. It faded once we kept the doors open and kept the fan on.

Bed was comfortable. Room was clean and spacious.

Overpriced in my opinion. Bathrooms need maintenance as they are moldy. Hot water lasts about 3 minutes. Rooms are dark and lacking natural light as they are all on the ground floor. Breakfast took an hour even though they asked for my timing the night before.

I loved Ivy House - my room was very well appointed and comfortable. Staff were great - friendly, helpful and efficient. Such a lovely ambience. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

Neat and cozy comfort space in the noise and mess of a big city! Friendliest staff always ready to help. Decent breakfast. Beautiful rooms. Nice terrace with a little garden - perfect for a quiet breakfast before you start your day. 15 min walk to Birla temple(you can even do that in the evening, the temple looks even better with the lighting). Oh, yes, they offer you a laundry service - which is really priceless if Kolkata is not your first stop in India and you need a bit of refreshing for your clothes. Yep, it's a bit pricy in compare with the other hotels but it's definitely worth the money and I can only recommend it for a stay!

Issue should not have occurred in the first place. No flexibility shown on check-out time though they did not have a single guest in the property.
