Newton Heights

The Most Beautiful BnB that offers to spoil you with many treats/flavours/luxury facilities & in one of New Zealands Most wonderful French village water locations - views and outdoor areas just breath taking & so relaxing ! Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed in a lot of properties and this has by far been our favorite stay ever. We loved the hosts, they are so welcoming and warm. We loved how comfortable we were. We felt extremely well looked after. We found the host so kind and lovely. We felt like we we staying with family. The location is so close to everything and the views from the rooms and whole house are exceptional and just magical. We wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast just gorgeous!

Everything about this place is beautiful. The house has a relaxing design blending indoors and outdoors perfectly. Gael and Brenden were wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived they were taking care of us and were incredibly welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. We spent the night in the hot tub and woke up to the best breakfast we have had during our stay in NZ. This is an unforgettable place and was a lovely place to stay after our engagement. Thank you Gael and Brenden, we hope to come back soon!

Brandon and Gail was very kind, everything was awesome. Clean room and bathroom, lovely view to mountains, stylish and very cosy interior. Accomodation was above expectations, I can recommend it.

Superb and friendly hosts - excellent accommodation and a great breakfast. We would definitely stay again - this would have to be the best B & B we have ever stayed at. A beautifully designed home.

We were warmly welcomed into Gail & Brendon’s beautiful home and a glass of wine was offered on arrival. Outstanding breakfast (easily best we had in NZ) where nearly everything is homemade by Gail or sourced from Brendon’s lovely garden, served on the balcony with wonderful views. The bed was exceedingly comfortable (albeit the room a little on the small side). Wonderful spa pool on the terrace, again enjoyed with a glass of wine. Altogether highly recommended for a short stay in Akaroa.

We had no choice! Newton Heights had the last available room in the whole of the centre of Akaroa on Booking.com when we were trying to secure a place to stay. Yet a stroke of serendipity turned no choice to be our best choice. What a nice surprise! Brendan and Gail have the most beautiful house created with an abundance of architectural aesthetics. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was sparkling clean and supplied with various amenities and toiletries. Outside the corner sliding doors of the bedroom, there is a private decked area where one evening I saw a native NZ bird, tūī, on a branch of a tree in the garden. It was a delightful experience. Brendan and Gail spoiled us with warmest hospitality and utmost attentiveness. Tea was served and wine also offered. Brendan was most helpful in giving us great advices as to where to dine and places to visit providing much ease for us to find our way around the area. We particularly enjoyed Gail's delicious full breakfasts served in the balcony with a magnificent view of the bay.

The house is situated on a slope, therefore, guests would need to drive and turn their cars with a bit more care.

Really? 5 star Michelin rating for our breakfasts. View from the B&B toward Akaroa delightful. The hosts were both helpful with touring advice and very pleasant. We left feeling sad to leave them both. Note: The entire B&B is spotless and beautifully furnished. They are the place to stay on the Banks Peninsula.

I can find fault with many places that I have stayed in the past, but not with Newton Heights B&B.
