This is a unique place run by unique people. I recommend them to anyone planning a visit to Seward! The location is perfect. The room conditions were great - cozy, clean. The biggest advantage of this place are the hosts - Marsha & Mike. They create a very friendly, even homely atmosphere. They adapt to guests' plans, provide information and help in organizing recreation and attractions in the area. And the breakfasts they serve are as delicious as the discussions with them :) And they have the most adorable dog in the world!

This accommodation was impeccably clean! The bed was comfortable and breakfast was amazing!

There were people in the room above us and it was quite noisy. Thankfully I always travel with earplugs.

Mike & Marsha are amazing hosts. We were so lucky to have found Sunshine House B&B! We had a room on the 1st floor in the front. It was large, spacious, and very comfortable. Every decoration is a beautiful craft, many home made by Marsha and the rest showcasing all the amazing artisans in Alaska. In addition to our room, both the living room and the outdoor porch/patio were made available to us to relax and enjoy. Breakfast is a delicious work of art! We had to beg Mike to prepare small portions for us because we are not big morning eaters … but I must say it was hard to resist. This is also probably the most affordable place in Seward. Thank you, Mike & Marsha for making your home and art and culinary skills open to visitors at an affordable price. Double what you charge, this is still easily the best option in Seward. With only 3 rooms book early and I mean really really early. Walking distance to the harbor (~30 minutes) and everywhere downtown (5 minutes).

Mike was an excellent cook! Marsha was such a sweet hostess and catered to us. The house was very clean, I would definitely recommend Sunshine B@B to everyone! Liked having a refrigerator in our room

Our hosts, Marsha and Mike were so welcoming and just fun to be with. Their hospitality made us want to linger longer over their fabulous breakfasts. They are full of knowledge about the area and gave us great recommendations for fun things to do. Our upstairs room was warm and cozy with a view ( despite the clouds we encountered. I’m fussy about showers and ours was perfect! We highly recommend a stay here.

The weather which is definitely not connected to the Sunshine House. But we loved the raw beauty of Alaska and our hosts hospitality made the poor weather just a little better!

Centrally located to the popular downtown walking areas and near the free Seward shuttle stop, you can really just park your car (free parking) and leave it for your stay. The hosts are really good about making varied breakfasts (salmon poke, pancakes, bacon, fresh berries, omelets- they ask you about your dietary restrictions and plan accordingly) and providing them to fit your schedule if you have an early start. If you're lucky to book a room, do it to support two teachers and you won't be disappointed!
