"It was fine, good value."

8.0

Sunday breakfast times were too late for walkers. Our Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royal were both inedible. We may just have been unlucky, others were tucking into the “full English” okay. Because of the late breakfast start we didn’t have time to insist they were done again.

"A Perfectly Clean and Comfortable Little Hotel"

10.0

We stayed at this lovely little hotel with my friend and had a very pleasant experience. The place is exceptionally clean—so clean, in fact, that after our hiking trip I almost felt guilty about even using the sink to wash my muddy shoes. The room itself was not particularly large, but it was very cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed: fresh clean towels, an iron and ironing board, toiletries, a large television, an adjustable electric radiator and a heated towel rail. There was also a kettle with tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided, which was a very nice touch. Dinner in the evening was absolutely wonderful, and the breakfast was just as good—we were completely full afterwards. The staff were simply delightful. Everyone was very friendly and clearly made a real effort to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Many thanks for such a lovely stay!

The only downside for me was the noise. As our room was on the first floor, we could hear guests having dinner downstairs until around midnight, and the toilet seemed to make noise throughout the night, which made it a bit difficult for me to fall asleep. The bed was also quite wobbly. That said, these were relatively minor issues and did not spoil our overall stay. We still had a very pleasant experience and really appreciated the cleanliness, the lovely food, and the wonderful staff.

"Perfectly peaceful, comfortable stay, friendly staff, beautiful location, delicious food."

10.0

The area is stunningly beautiful. The staff were friendly and lovely. Bed was actually the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in. The venison pie was delicious and I found myself thinking about it over and over again! Can’t wait to come back.

Nothing. It was great.
