Mareluna Penthouse - Luxury Suites

The staff/owners were helpful, friendly, and communicated well while we were there. They also set up a private boat tour for us with a local company for a good rate. The location is very nice because it is close to the train station and the sea. The elevator, though quirky was necessary to get our luggage up to the 5th floor (6th floor by American standards). Water pressure was good and never ran out of hot water. Air conditioning was available without issue.

We booked for a large group (11 people) and needed 3 rooms. We were unaware that they have multiple buildings that they have rooms in. Be aware that if you book more than one room, you may end up in buildings two blocks from each other. We had 2 rooms in one building and 1 room in another building. One building is newer with a huge balcony. However, because you use a key card to turn on the electricity, the mini fridge can not run while you are out of the room. The rooms in the other building had much smaller balconies. They also had mildew spots on the ceiling in the bathrooms. The sofa/couch beds are really twin size cots.

Light, airy and spacious room in a good central location. Very clean and with a comfortable bed. Hosts were very helpful.

Enzo the host was friendly and quick with communication. Close to train station, supermarket and shopping. 15min walk to ferries.

Far from a luxury apartment! I’ve stayed in 2 and 3 star places before but this was supposed to be ‘luxury with sea view’. Lot of mould in shower and bathroom window, towel hooks coming off the wall, terrace door handle came off (fixed next day), kettle had eggshell pieces in it and the bottom covered in lime build up, mismatched coffee mugs both dirty, plastic wine and drinking glasses. Sadly it was nothing like the listing description. Numerous items listed weren’t present, had to request them. Iron (old and dirty when supplied), clothes drying rack, alarm clock (not supplied), tea/coffee (coffee not supplied, told “we don’t drink much coffee here”), teabags supplied, minibar was a mini fridge with refillable bottle of water, outdoor cushions. Was told the apartment I booked with sea view and sofa bed, “as you’re only 1 person we locked that up for when 3 people book”. No compensation received (oh except didn’t have to pay tax of 4.50 Euro). Sea view available when leaning over terrace balcony to the left. Plants on terrace were not cared for - full of weeds, 1 dead. Photo shows view from apartment. Extremely noisy at night, had to wear ear plugs. Included breakfast is choice of 3 items including coffee, croissant or brioche and juice or water.

The location was great! The host told us about a number of thing to do and it didn't disappoint.

Internet wasn't working, but that happens.

No amenities like bottled water or coffee. No useful utensils such as knives or wine openers. The door handle on door to the deck pulled off and the door started falling into the room. The deck looked inviting but there were no cushions on the couches and were too uncomfortable to enjoy. The room was noisy and loud guests next door sounded like they were in the room. Check-in was a joke. we were told by the host that he would come over and help since we were unable to download his video . We were double parked for almost an hour waiting and then he emailed some directions. We lost time that we were looking to spend down in the harbor and park. We couldn’t get any of the lights to work and found no instructions. Finally figured out that some kind of card had to be put into a box on the wall. Again,no instructions provided. After waisting a lot of time, we wanted to sit on the deck and enjoy a class of wine. The wine glasses were cheap plastic dulled from too many washings. Toiletries were a joke and the final insult came when we tried to get the included breakfast and the server asked for our tickets. Of course, there were none. we went back to the room and looked for the tickets or instructions where we might find them. We ended up buying our own. This host doesn’t seem to be interested in providing the normal services required in the service industry. I would not stay there again even if it were free.

Very nice room with nice balcony. In an original classical Art Nouveau House. The host service was extraordinary kind, helpful and friendly. The appartement is situated very close to the ferry port and to the train station.

Our stay at Mareluna was simply incredible! The apartment was great, and the balcony was breathtaking. You could see the ocean and the mountains from there. We’d definitely stay at Anzo’s again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salerno.
