MONSOON Eco Resort

Vishy, the owner, runs her business in an efficient way. This eco hotel has a huge and relaxing garden with many trees and flowers. There are not so many bungalows, thus ensuring quietness. There owner is kind, takes care of her clients and is well connected, which enables to do excursions or transfers in a smooth way. Food quality is good but prices are a bit too high. Arugam bay is reachable by tuk tuk in 15 minutes, and there is a beach 10 minutes walking for surf beginners.

Een liefdevolle plek. Mooi terrein schoon en geweldige buiten badkamer. Weg van (massa) toerisme in ArugamBay en dichtbij dé surfgolf van deze omgeving. Op de scooter op 15-20 minuutjes naar A.Bay. Maar wij bleven lekker hier. Mooi rustig strand op loopafstand, met leuk lokaal tentje voor je kokosnoot en fles water en lunch. AANRADER!!! Oh ja, eten bij Voshy is beste uit de omgeving - ze staat in de top 9 !!! En ze is enorm gastvrij!

Eigenlijk was alles wel top. Als deze plek direct aan zee had gelegen was het een 10 geweest!

The place has a really nice atmosphere, the hosts are incredible people, the food is amazing and it was really quiet. All the plants, the decorations, and how everything is well maintained makes a perfect place.

Everything. It’s absolutely stunning. Open bathrooms, beautiful rooms, farm to table food and above alll… the hospitality of the Owners. I felt like home.

That I couldn’t stay moreee. Lol.

We made a mistake the first night and booked a room without AC, but the owner was so good about finding us a new room, which we enjoyed so much we decided to stay 2 extra nights. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip. We’d definitely stay again. Location for us was great, as it was away from the business of Arugam Bay. We had a TukTuk so found it very easy to get about.

Some bugs, but we brought insect repellent and incense and spent most evenings outside very comfortably

We enjoyed our stay at Monsoon Eco Resort so much! The garden is beyond amazing, and waking up to the sound of birds was magical. Breakfast was delicious too!

The colorful peacocks sometimes unfurled their magnificent tail feathers and glittered charmingly in the sunlight, adding a sense of life and vitality to this peaceful land. <aside> Every morning, wild animals can be seen moving freely in the distance through the windows, and this experience of being so close to nature is a precious moment that cannot be obtained in city life. </aside> ## Accommodation with nature and comfort Monson Resort accommodations combine the elements of nature with comfort. Our rooms are built in the traditional local architectural style using natural materials in harmony with the surroundings. The open-plan design allows us to listen to the sounds of nature - the singing of birds, the rustling of leaves in the breeze, and the occasional call of a herd of elephants in the distance. Each room has been carefully furnished with simplicity and warmth, allowing us to enjoy nature without losing the comforts of modern life. Lying in bed at night, you can see the sky full of stars through the window, and this pure experience is unforgettable. ## Gourmet feasts cooked by the hostesses themselves One of the highlights of Monson Resort is that every meal is cooked by the hostess herself. Using fresh local ingredients, she utilizes traditional Sri Lankan cooking techniques to the fullest.

Monsoon Eco Resort is a lovely place, when you're looking for a beautiful quite stay outside of the classical tourist locations. Vishy is a very friendly and courteous host, who put much effort in the little details and will help you with the organisation of everything you need. The kitchen is absolutely amazing, best food we had in Sri Lanka. Such a heartwarming space, we will miss Vishy and her helping Hands very much
