Banana Rest Sigiriya

Excellent property with a huge garden having plenty of trees and a lake upfront. Super helpful people taking good care of you and serving the best Sri Lankan breakfast.

Beds are comfy, A/C works well, big room, amazing view on the lake and plenty of wildlife! The food was great and the owners were amazing, thanks again for everything!!

Careful with the macaques, hide the food ! They can be aggressive

The location is just awesome and super peaceful. Directly at the lake, with the view of peacocks, cows and sometimes buffalos.

The tuktuk ride to Sigiriya was supposed to be included, but the owners seemed very confused when I asked about it. I wanted to go to Pidurangala and had to pay the whole drive (2000lkr). It's not a problem, I am happy to pay the tuktuk, but I disliked that there was wrong information on booking.

Peaceful location and wonderful host. We had a few challenging requests and he truly helped us with all of them.

The breakfast was generous and tasty. Ramith was as helpful as possible.

My room had seen better days! The room and bathroom weren't clean, and the smell was bad when I first went in. Droppings from I-don't-know-what-animal kept appearing in the bathroom, and there was also scuttling in the walls. The mosquito net had holes in it. I would especially advise lone female travellers to think twice before staying here.

The owner Ramith helps with everything and did everything that we’ve asked for. He even drove us to Kandy as there was no other driver available. The apartment has everything you need.

Small thing: We’ve booked a room without AC, it gets quite hot there 😄 so try to book one with AC. Worse thing: Friends or the family of the owner stayed there and they had a karaoke party on their last day which started at 9:30 pm and ended at 1:00 am. We could hardly sleep because of that. But that’s not the owners fault and sometimes it’s even funny to hear other people sing 😉
