Banana Rest Sigiriya

Absolutely loved our stay. We can’t thank this wonderful family enough. It was peaceful, incredible food, amazing wildlife and bird life in the garden. Very special stay. If you like being peaceful and enjoy nature this is the spot for you. Great spot to base yourself. Thank you, thank you!

A little out of the way from sigiriya, but they offer a free tuktuk into town :)

Location

Cleanliness of the toilets was poor. There were cockroaches everywhere. AC wasn’t clean so it was really hard to breathe good air.

Very nice and clean place to stay. My recommendations!

I would like the location and surrounding. It is a Tranquille place.

1. Cleanliness of the washroom is poor. there was bad odor, and some small insects were there in the washroom. 2. Staff was no ready to provide food when asked. 3. I wish, staff much friendly than I experienced.

Beautiful location with a lot of wild animals roaming around the property really friendly and helpful owner and a delicious local breakfast

Location was close to Sigiriya, peaceful and very accommodating by the hosts. We checked in late and checked out late as well. The hosts were were understanding and gave us late breakfast which was an experience on its own.

Rooms were surrounded by wildlife. This is not a bad thing. We wanted some seclusion. But what we didn't anticipate is the side-effects of bugs at night which attracts to light :) Bathrooms had some small frogs which we had to escort out of the room. Again, we accepted this as it was so close to the surrounding wilderness. You come here for the experience not for luxury accommodation.

We loved our short stay at the Banana Rest. The owner (Ramith) and the rest of the staff were so helpful and accommodating. Fantastic location (was very easy to find via Google maps) with stunning surrounding, views and very close to Sigiriya Lion Rock, which was handy to do the climb early in the morning. The Sri Lankan breakfast was absolutely delicious too. Would definitely visit again if we are staying near Sigiriya and would highly recommend to anyone.

Th location wa amazing. It was teeming with wild life. Sitting on the veranda, I saw a mongoose, peacock, water buffalo, monkeys, plenty of squirrels. We were lucky to see a wild elephant too. Ramith went the extra mile to help with travel arrangements.
