Banana Rest Sigiriya

We had the most incredible stay! The host Ramith was kind and went out of he way to make us feel at Hotel. The food was incredible, we stayed for breakfast and lunch every day. he was also very knowledgeable about the local sites (lions rock, Pidurangala rock and the safaris) and ensured we were getting the best price possible! Thank you!

I was traveling with my family and mom and we booked two triple rooms for two nights. Let me start with the location and view. The location is very close to Sigiriya and has a private road to reach the property. For us, since we booked two rooms, our privacy was great as rooms were in pairs and were well apart from each other. The view in the morning is lush greeny breathtaking view and you will be facing the forest and can see parts of the lake as well. Peacocks, chipmunks are a common and close sight in the garden and my kids loved it the most. Food The host and the place clearly exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was prepared to our requests and we took all three meals from the place. We opted for rice and curry for lunch and there were a variety of dishes cooked to perfection. do doubt one of the best Sri Lankan meals we ever had was in this place. More importantly, my kids' dietary needs were taken care of very well and I did not expect such a great level of hospitality. They cooked chicken and dhaal without spices specially for my kids. My elderly mom was given all the comfort she needed such as a pot of hot water in the middle of the night. The host Ramith was only a phone call away no matter what we needed. He explained clearly on the steps to visit Sigiriya and later in the evening he arranged a safari jeep which came to pick us at the hotel and dropped us off as well at a very very reasonable price. The safari was such a great experience and we were able to spot more than 20 elephants at very close range. A must stay place if you are visiting Sigiriya. Would definitely book again.

For the amount we paid, we were well taken care of and there's nothing to complain about. Food prices were very very reasonable and they did not even charge for my kid's meals. Ramith is a very nice host. Wishing Banana rest all the very best.

serenity and nature

Our stay was amazing! We loved the house. The place is very piece calm and quiet, surrounded by the beautiful nature. Perfect for relaxing after very intensive days. The homemade food was delicious, and our host was giving us amazing and honest tips and advices whenever we asked. He also arranged the trip to Polonnaruwa with his tuk tuk for us, which was a great trip. He also took us to another places in the area, and the prices were very reasonable. He arranged the laundry service for us as well. You can tell that he’s doing everything for the guests to feel comfortable!

The host is really nice and the place is clean

The rooms are very big and clean and really nice! All staff and the owner were extremely friendly and helpful with anything. Host Ramith is responsive and friendly. Also They Gave Me Very Important Information Around Sri Lanka in This Situation because Ramith is licensed Tourism guide in Sri Lanka. He is safety driver. he arrange sigiriya village tour for me it is The location is very good, 15 minutes walking to sigiriya rock

Banana rest guest house is amazing, owner Ramith and his family were such amazing hosts.The room was big and clean, the garden is very peaceful.The breakfast and dinner were really delicious. It's only a few minutes walk to mainroad and owner dropped me off there with his tuctuc. I had a FREE tuk tuk ride to Sigirya also. I highly recommend Banana Rest for enjoyable stay in Sigiriya. Peaceful place in the middle of the nature, very friendly hospitality, room was clean and food was really delicious. A free TukTuk ride to the Sigiriya Rock was included.I highly recommend Banana Rest, you won't regret it
