A Little Paradise at Coconut Beach My stay at Sky Mountain Café was simply wonderful! Chanu and his family have created a truly special place where you feel welcome from the very first moment. Their warmth and hospitality are exceptional. The accommodation is located just outside Weligama, right by the peaceful Coconut Beach, which you can reach via a few steps. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature – with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Every morning, a family of monkeys visits for their daily bananas, but they are never intrusive. Another highlight: the sea turtles you can watch at the beach! A special thank you to Chanu’s mother, whose cooking is absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and Chanu takes great care of every guest’s needs – whether it’s renting a scooter, recommending a massage, or arranging surf lessons. If you’re looking for tranquility while still being close to the center of Weligama, this is the perfect place. I will definitely be back! Thank you for this beautiful stay.

An amazing family run stay, I felt very safe and happy as a solo female traveller who was originally a bit apprehensive to go on my own

If you’re from the uk or another cold country please bear in mind there’s not AC in every room

The view at the ocean is amazing! The property is very close to the beach which is long and beautiful, there is a turtle spot where few of them are feeding on algae every day. The hosts are super nice and helpful, breakfast and dinner is very tasty. A family of monkeys is always coming for some bananas in the morning and evening. We had very relaxing and pleasant stay. We will come back.

What an amazing place! Beautiful rooms surrounded by natural jungle which the family have retained. Monkeys, birds, chipmunks and porcupines on site, its a real natural retreat - an absolute gem! The whole family are so welcoming and kind, Champa makes amazing Sri Lankan breakfast and often offers evening meals - you will definitely gain weight here, the food is fantastic. Hospitality by Chanu and Vijay also wonderful, and Bambush the dog is a star! I cannot recommend Sky Mountain enough, we couldn't have landed anywhere better with amazing sea views and couple of minutes walk to the beach and village. Chanu is always around to help with advice and arranging trips, transport and anything else you could possibly need. A really beautiful experience staying with Chanu, Champa and Vijay, feels like we have made friends for life and will be coming back as often as possible! Thank you Chanu, Champa and Vijay x

Everything was perfect - wonderful country, wonderful people

This place is truly magical, no other words can describe it better. The view, the rooms, the common area, and the sounds of nature make it absolutely wonderful. But what makes this place even more outstanding are the people. Chanu is not only the most lovely and caring host, but he goes above and beyond to help with anything you need. He organized the best surfing lessons for us and even drove us there twice early in the morning, ensuring everything went perfectly. His mom is the absolute sweetest and most welcoming lady. She prepared exceptionally delicious dinners for us, surprising us each time with different variations of vegetable rice and curry. Beyond the wonderful food and the breathtaking location, nestled in the middle of the jungle yet close to a stunning beach, this family makes you feel at home. Their kindness has left a lasting impression and truly touched my heart. Saying farewell was honestly heartbreaking, and I hope to return someday.

The hotel owner Chanu is a very humble person. The location was excellent in terms of the location and view of the beach.

We did not know that there is no hot water in the shower until we got there.

The terrace was amazing - such a great atmosphere at sky mountain. The host and his family are so lovely and made our stay special. Thank you for having us ☺️
