Braeside

Great B&B in a lovely, peaceful location with a good pub within a few minutes' walk. A beautiful period house. The bedoom was big and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Sally, the host is very friendly and welcoming.

Bottom of driveway a little tricky to drive up

Braeside is located in a small village 7 miles north of Alnwick. The property is very quiet and relaxing. The breakfast served by Sally was very plentiful and cooked to a very high standard. There is a very nice pub in the village that has a very good menu for an evening meal.

There was nothing I didn't like about our stay at Braeside.

From the moment we booked, Sally, the owner, showed us such kindness and warmth. The room was fabulous with a large, very comfortable bed and an en-suite with period bath, toilet and sink-all charming! Each day, we were fed a superb breakfast which filled us to overflowing, so much so that we had to ask for smaller English breakfasts! We really appreciated the total peace and quiet. We will most certainly return! While other reviewers have made comments about the access, we had no problem and we have a very large car. I would advise visitors to reverse up The Terrace and then drive forwards onto the driveway to avoid having to navigate sharp bends-we did this in pitch-black every evening without any issue.

Lovely home from home property, bedroom with everything you need and fabulous big bathroom with roll top bath. Quiet countryside setting, excellent base to access all the surrounding towns, beaches, historic attractions, etc. Sally is a wonderful, friendly host, breakfast is delicious and certainly sets you up for the day. Her dog Minky deserves a mention too, lovely friendly Labrador. ☺️

Peaceful location, slept well in the spacious bedroom. Large bathroom with good shower and towels. Our host Sally was welcoming and helpful and cooked a good breakfast. We particularly liked the fresh fruits (delicious raspberries) and yogurt. Recommended.
