This was a lovely place to stay, in the small town of Laingsburg in the Karoo. Very comfortable and very clean, and the cleaning staff we met on premises were very friendly and efficient. A very comfortable stay in a lovely well maintained lodge.

Our arrival was not handled well. We had booked months in advance, a family room, self catering, and specifically with a bathtub - and we added an additional night to our stay, closer to the time, which extra night was confirmed via Booking.com, and added to our booking, making it 3 nights. On arrival, the male receptionist was not welcoming, and even though there were no other cars parked in the parking area, indicating we were at the time the only guests, said that we did not have a booking. He asked for proof. I showed him our booking via the Booking.com app, which he acknowleged and then agreed to book us in. He then said that the room booked, did not have a bathtub. We said that was not acceptable. We booked the room BECAUSE it had a bathtub. He then showed us the room that was booked - which only had a shower - and another room, that was not self catering, but did have a bath. We took that room, as the bath was, for us, a necessity, due to the fact we were there to run the Lainsgburg Karoo Marathon and wanted to be able to take a bath afterwards. We decided that was more important than being able to self-cater - though we had booked the room on the basis of having both the self catering option and a bathtub. We were not very happy about this start to our stay, but everthing else was absolutely fine and all other staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

Nice & clean, comfortable beds

Not much interaction with owner, just gave us the key & told us where the room was. No explanation for anything such as restaurants etc
