Good breakfast

A nice size bedroom with view across the green. The bed was comfortable although a very heavy quilt! The pleasant waitress/cook trying to cope with a full room for breakfast.

I felt a bit like an inconvenience for disturbing what is very much a 'locals' bar when I went in and waited several minutes whilst the single member of staff poured beer etc. (Not even an acknowledgement that I was standing there). I was hoping for a nice hot shower after a long day of walking but only managed to get tepid water and didn't feel like returning to ask the barman! Dinner was a rather mediocre curry served in a cold dish making it tepid like the shower! Although there hadn't been noticeably loud music from the bar, the thud thud thud of the base notes kept me awake until nearly midnight. Breakfast wasn't of the quality anticipated considering the cost of the room: instant coffee is not acceptable! I was lucky being one of the first down for breakfast so managed to get most of what I wanted but others were told that they were out of sausages, beans, brown sauce, orange juice and brown bread - this on a Saturday morning when all guests had booked well in advance!

It was a great location for us while walking the SCW trail. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was really good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The bar/restaurant area wasn't a particularly comfortable environment. Only instant coffee available :(

We had a family room which was actually two rooms and a full sized bathroom. This was great and made it quite quiet as there was a long corridor between our bedroom and the bar which was just as well as we arrived on probably the busiest day of the year. The cooked breakfast was really good and staff were friendly.

Although breakfast was really good the bar food was not so hot. I had scampi and chips the first night but the scampi wasn't cooked properly - and neither was the second batch. They did take it off the bill though. The first meal I ordered the next night wasn;t available so I had fish and chips which was good and the fish tasted really fresh. I think they are making some changes in the kitchen so this all may improve in future.
